At the Bozzi since the 2020 season, a family at altitude.
The keepers
Why we took on the management of the hut
Since 2020 Rifugio Bozzi has been run by the Carganico family. Michele, head of the family, works nine months a year as a mason with his own building firm, and from June to September lives permanently at altitude. His wife Federica handles bookings and welcomes guests, while their children Alessandra and Andrea help run the hut throughout the summer season. A love of the mountains runs through the whole family. Summer is entirely given over to work at the hut, autumn marks the closing, and every June we come back up with the same spirit and the will to do better year after year.

Melaverde
Our story on TV
Rifugio Bozzi and our family were featured in an episode of Melaverde, the Canale 5 programme dedicated to Italian agriculture and mountain life. The crew climbed up here to show what life at altitude really looks like: how you supply a hut at 2478 metres, what a day in the kitchen is like, what it means to welcome hikers walking the trails of the White War. A nice chance to show our work to a wider audience.
